Today we talk to Emma, one of our Holiday Property Consultants. Born and raised in Pembrokeshire, Emma is a mum, sea-swim enthusiast and avid cyclist.
Name: Emma Beynon
Specialist Areas: Pembrokeshire and West Carmarthenshire
Key Areas: Whitland and Narberth
Emma has worked in the Leisure and Tourism industry since she was a teenager. Growing up in Pembrokeshire she had seasonal jobs in cafes and local attractions. She went on to study Leisure Management in the then Swansea Institute and has been dedicated to nurturing and developing her skills in the sector ever since.
Her experience as an assistant spa manager, along with management experience in guest services has no doubt helped to make Emma the knowledgeable, efficient person she is today. Interested in industry trends, Emma always seems one step ahead of the game and is able to advise property owners on little changes they can make to maximise their rentals and profits.
If you grow up in Pembrokeshire it’s hard to be anything but an outdoor lover, and Emma is no exception. An avid cyclist (no mean feat with our mountainous terrain), she explores the county mostly on two wheels, although her favourite places to be are walking the dog in the Colby Lodge Gardens or wandering around the creative town of Narberth.
Emma is a keen sea-swimmer and when she isn’t busy running her kids from place to place, she meets up with the ‘Swim-Mums’ who she meets at 5am (!!) for a sea swim followed by a cycle around the county. Yikes!
“We are a group of mums who escape the hustle and bustle of family and work life by meeting up for a sunrise swim and a cycle. Obviously followed by tea and cake!”
Why Pembrokeshire? For Emma, her upbringing in beautiful Pembrokeshire allowed her to explore the outdoors and connect with nature, something she really values. So deciding to stay and raise a family here was a no brainer.
“I feel it is an honour to live in an area with such natural beauty and everything you need right on your doorstep. From beaches to mountains we have it all. Why would I want to be anywhere else?”
Emma’s favourite bit about the job is “Seeing families explore West Wales for the first time. It is a constant reminder of how lucky we are, and it’s great to see someone else ‘discovering’ it in their own way.”
