Established in 1833, Frank B Mason and Co. are a well known and respected estate agent selling property in Pembrokeshire for over 150 years. (Now with five offices throughout the county.) The original business started in 1833 and was acquired soon afterwards by Richard Mason. Back then the business was mainly involved in printing, property, lettings and financing. Richard Mason left the business to his son Frank Britten Mason (pictured) who took over in the early 1900s. Frank Britten Mason was also instrumental in bringing about the Freedom of the Press Act of Parliament which then enabled the Tenby Observer to access the previously private Town Council meetings. Frank B Mason was a blunt, heavily built man with a sea-faring background who took over the Tenby Observer (now running for over 150 years) and one of Tenby’s local papers when he was just 25. His father had founded it as part of a family business which embraced building, auctioneering and estate agency. The firm was the town’s biggest employer in the late 1890s and early 1900s. The company first got involved in holiday lettings around 1900 and that side of the business has gone from strength to strength since then. Specially selected...... To qualify for inclusion in the FBM Holidays portfolio, every property goes through an initial FBM Holidays 6-stage selection process and is reviewed annually:
- Advising the owner of any improvements (such as furniture, furnishings, appliances, utensils, decoration, attention to detail and so on) required to bring the property up to the FBM Holidays high standards
- Carrying out these recommendations accordingly
- Reinspecting and photographing the property
- Joint approval and grading of the property by the FBM Holidays selection team and adding it to the portfolio for the coming season
- Thereafter the property is monitored according to customer feedback and inspected every year to ensure that it continues to qualify for inclusion in the FBM Holidays portfolio.
Graded for quality..... In addition to being specially selected, all holiday properties are graded in accordance with the new Visit Wales gradings scheme introduced from 1st October 2007 and consistent with that which applies to holiday accommodation in England and Scotland. Each grading is awarded following an independent inspection and assessment of the property. The current collection includes properties which are either new to the FBM Holidays portfolio or have been recently improved and upgraded. Consequently, some of these properties may be awaiting inspection and grading by Visit Wales, so where this applies an FBM Holidays grading is shown instead. FBM gradings are based on our long experience and give a fair and honest assessmentof what we believe the official Visit Wales grading will be.
