Property code: OC-WAV420

This charming property, beautifully converted from stone farm outbuildings, sleeps two guests and has a child’s bedroom, making it ideal for a couple or small family. The cottage is at the end of six similar conversions set in a pretty landscaped courtyard planted with herbs and flowers. Historic Haverfordwest (1 mile) has an excellent range of shops where you can stock up on local produce and enjoy a stroll alongside the Western Cleddau river, which flows through this attractive county town. There’s also a fascinating museum inside the 12th-century castle which dominates the scene. Head for family-friendly beaches at Broad Haven and Little Haven (5 miles), where golden sand and rock pools will provide hours of happy fun for children. Less accessible but well worth the 1-mile walk from the car park is Marloes Sands (11 miles), managed by the

National Trust. Discover dramatic coastal scenery, a vast expanse of golden sand and safe bathing at this unspoiled hidden gem. From nearby Martin’s Haven, you can book a 15-minute boat trip to the wild island of Skomer, one of the country’s finest wildlife sites, where you may see puffins, dolphins and a host of sea birds.

Walk up a flower-lined path into the light and airy open-plan living/dining and kitchen area. An impressive vaulted ceiling, beams, wooden doors and a feature stone wall add to the rural character of this welcoming space. The well-planned interior is attractively furnished in contemporary style, with a comfortable leather tub chair and sofa, where you can relax in front of the TV and a cosy coal effect electric/gas fire. Start your day with a leisurely breakfast at the wooden dining table, which looks out onto lovely country views. A small lobby leads to a spacious bathroom, with a shower over the bath and WC. Also off the lobby is a comfortable double bedroom. This tranquil space features a stone wall, painted white and has a lovely view of the garden courtyard, plus ample storage space. From the ground floor, a wooden staircase leads up to an open gallery and a child’s single bedroom with restricted headroom. Children will love this cosy space.

Outside, a gravelled front patio with a flower bed has a table and chairs where you can enjoy a drink while admiring the peaceful countryside outlook. There is a large, shared lawn with a built-in BBQ, picnic benches and a play area with swings, a wooden pirate boat and a playhouse - perfect for small children.

We had a comfortable and relaxing holiday in this lovely cottage. The central location enabled us to explore much of Pembrokeshire without too much driving and the immediate area is great for dog walking.

A delightful homely cottage that feels like you are in a remote rural location with a pretty courtyard at the front and our cottage had a lovely garden with a field of sheep and beautiful views at the back to look at having a G&T sitting outside during the evening. Facing west the sunsets were breathtaking. But; an excellent selection of shops anRead mored amenities all within a mile or less. Best of both worlds. Lovely comfortable cottage great patio at the rear of the property where we all enjoyed gin and tonic in the sunshine. The dog had room to go out in the garden and watch the sheep. Although he is a collie he has no interest in sheep whatsoever. The huge field opposite the property was an added bonus to exercise the dog. We've had a great week here at Holly Cottage, helped a little by the glorious sunshine every day. The cottage was absolutely perfect for us, with our dog very much enjoying watching the sheep through the window, and final evening walk around the huge field on the other side of the road. The cottage had everything we could have needed and was beautiRead morefully clean. Our favourite places have been the Stackpole Estate with the dog friendly beaches at Barafundle, Broad Haven south, and the postcard quay at Porthclais. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! Hide
