FAQs about surfing in Gower

Llangennith

Yes, Gower has some of the best waves in Britain due to its coastal positioning.

Llangennith

Award-winning Llangennith has consistent waves for all surfing abilities throughout the year when the conditions are good.

Experienced surfers head for the Three Peaks at the north end for some thrilling surf while Rhossili at the southern end is more sheltered and suited to longboarders and beginners. Hillend is the main area for surfing as there is a car park near the beach.

Langland Bay

Langland Bay is another of Gower’s premier surf spots that offers a variety of waves depending on the tide. Expect fun, fast-breaking waves at high tide and longer breaking waves as the tide retreats.

Award-winning, family-friendly Langland Bay Beach has a great range of facilities, and explorers can also enjoy the refreshing coastal cliff-top walk around to Caswell Bay.

Rhossili

Rhossili to the southern end of Llangennith offers some nice, consistent surf. This popular spot also has space to accommodate large numbers in the water and is suitable for all surfing abilities.

Rhossili’s iconic Worms Head cliff face provides shelter from winds which makes this spot popular with longboarders and beginners.

Oxwich Bay is a popular spot for surfing in Gower and can produce some nice hollow surf in the right conditions.
