Self-catering holiday cottages in Abergorlech
Remote and rural, Abergorlech is a peaceful little hamlet alongside the River Cothi, between Brechfa and Llansawel in the mid-Wales countryside. Mountain bike enthusiasts will know it as the gateway to the Gorlech trail through Brechfa Forest, a red-graded route which is an exciting prospect for experienced riders. There are also several walking trails that start here, one of which, the Forest Garden Walk, takes in examples of trees from all over the world, planted by Forestry Commission staff in the late 1950s.
If you’re staying in one of our holiday cottages in Abergorlech, why not give yourself a night off cooking and head for the Black Lion pub? The cosy and welcoming establishment serves up local ales and homecooked food with a smile. When you stride out from your choice of our self-catering cottages in Abergorlech, keep your eyes peeled for the strangely shaped stones, or ‘gorlechs’, found only in the River Cothi and displayed in some of the gardens.
Our Abergorlech cottages are perfectly placed for you to make the most of exploring this beautiful area – whether you’re taking to two wheels in the Brechfa Forest, or opting for more sedate riverside walks. Enjoy day trips to nearby Dolaucothi Gold Mines (8 miles), Dinefwr Castle (14.5 miles) and the National Botanic Gardens of Wales (14.5 miles).
