Self-catering holiday cottages in Brechfa Forest
Our Brechfa Forest cottages are set in rural splendour, and whether you are in search of an idyllic retreat for two or a splendid cottage with luxury finishes for a family staycation, you are bound to find something special in this corner of West Wales. Forming part of the beautiful Glyn Cothi Forest, Brechfa Forest is situated deep in the heart of Carmarthenshire. Beneath the canopy of coniferous trees is a myriad of trails to explore and benches to relax on, and if you are feeling weary the pine-needle-strewn terrain is perfect for throwing down a picnic blanket. The alpine-style slopes are great for stretching Fido’s legs, whilst the youngest members of your party will adore searching for fairies and climbing across exposed roots among the trees.
A stay in a Brechfa cottage is a must for cyclists of all abilities with the imposing three climbs of the Gorlech Trail for adventure seekers and the Derwen Trail for families and beginners to try. Refuel at one of two nearby pubs on your travels, or venture further afield to explore. With hidden gems such as the market town of Llandeilo, the ancient town of Carmarthen and the beautiful Dinefwr Castle within 13 miles of Brechfa, you won’t have to travel far to soak up local history and sample delicious produce. The stunning coastal villages of Ferryside and Laugharne are within 23 miles of Brechfa for walks by the sea, while Pembrey Country Park and Cefn Sidan Beach are within 27.5 miles and are also wonderful places to visit.
