A rustic stone cottage, located between the charming villages of Rhos and Saron in the Welsh countryside, this beautifully refurbished bolthole offers tranquillity for a family, couple or friends keen to explore this rural area. There are two pubs nearby for treat nights, and more shopping and restaurants in the historic market town of Newcastle Emlyn (6 miles). Llandysul (3.5 miles) is known for its scenic riverside walks along the River Teifi, opportunities for kayaking and canoeing, and its traditional Welsh character. But the call of the wild Welsh landscape is loud here, so grab the dog lead and head to Cenarth Falls (9 miles); walk along the path, passing the river and falls before stopping off for lunch in one of the local pubs. For beaches, head north to Cardigan Bay where you are spoiled for choice. Aberporth (14.5 miles) is a beautiful golden sand beach with half of it being dog friendly year-round. Tresaith (13.5 miles) is another popular choice, where you may be able to see its spectacular waterfall.
Entering the cottage, you’ll be welcomed into the dining room, just oozing with character thanks to its original tiled floor, lovely, exposed stonework, ornamental fireplace and beams. In keeping with the style and age of the cottage, the stairs go up from here, from the centre of the ground floor, separating the dining room and the charming lounge. In the lounge, you can sink into the comfortable sofa seating, watching something on the Smart TV, or chatting around the cosy wood burner. The compact kitchen is fitted with modern units that blend wonderfully with the exposed stone and original slate floor. The modern family bathroom is also located on the ground floor. Head upstairs at the end of the day, where the sleeping accommodation comprises one elegant double and one twin bedroom. Both have practical touches like storage, and offer charm galore with exposed beams, stonework, beautiful, stripped wood floors and low cottage-style windows.
Accessed from the kitchen downstairs, the enclosed garden to the rear offers a large area of lawn any pups or young ones will love, with seating and mature shrubs surrounded by some trees. Sit and talk your day over using the outdoor dining furniture, while cooking up a holiday feast on the charcoal BBQ. There’s private parking for two cars at the property.
