Or spend a tranquil morning at Abercastle (7.5 miles) and take the 1-mile scenic stroll to Carreg Samson, a 5,000-year-old Neolithic burial chamber. Further afield, head to Newport’s Carningli Centre (10 miles) to go antique-hunting, or to the National Trust’s Blue Lagoon in Abereiddi Blue Lagoon (11 miles) to go coasteering. Alternatively, grab your surf board and head to Newport Sands (11.5 miles).
