Sitting on a working farm in Lamphey in West Wales countryside, only 2 miles from the coast, this quirky hut couldn’t be more romantic. It’s warm and cosy, with underfloor heating and a wood burner. Outside, there’s a fire pit BBQ and amazing views. It’s the perfect base to get away from it all and explore stunning Pembrokeshire.

This may be called a hut, but it provides high-end accommodation and manages to fit in every creature comfort you could need. There’s an open-plan space with the kitchen (which has a double hob, a combi oven, and a fridge), a breakfast bar for two, the living space and a double bed, with under-bed storage and a Smart TV. There’s also a luxurious shower room with a waterfall shower. There’s plenty of space outside too where you can cook on the fire pit BBQ, sit with a glass of wine, and enjoy the views across the fields.

Lamphey is home to a village shop and a pub which serves food less than a mile from the hut. On the northern edge of the village are the remains of Lamphey Bishop’s Palace, which the medieval bishops built for themselves with a 25-metre-long Great Hall worth visiting. Pembroke is 2 miles away where you’ll find a selection of places to shop and eat out, and the impressive Pembroke Castle where Henry VII was born. There’s a lovely circular walk from the village to Freshwater beach, 2 miles away – a sweeping crescent of golden sand with clear turquoise waters, it’s perfect for a stroll, paddleboarding and other water sports, or just relaxing. The ever-popular seaside resort of Tenby is 8.5 miles away, known for its castle, sandy beaches, and pretty harbour.

We had a lovely weekend here and would love to visit again. The shepherd's hut has everything you need, it's cosy but doesn't feel small and the view is amazing. It's a great location too, only a short drive to some beautiful beaches.

A delightfully small but perfectly formed shepherds hut in a perfect location. We were very comfortable, and had everything to make our break enjoyable. Lamphey is an excellent central location for all that South Pembrokeshire has to offer.

What a beautiful find!! This shepherds but provided us with a wonderful long weekend away and had everything we needed to make it a home from home. Its set in an idyllic location (we went early April and got to see lots of little lambs just on the other side of the fence!), close to freshwater east beach and only a short drive to Tenby and FreshwatRead moreer West. The hut was clean and the bed was super comfortable! We had an issue with the electrics on our first day there, spoke to the owner and he sent an electrician and had it sorted within a few hours!! Everything you need including linen, mugs, plates, cups and even wood for the wood burner. An absolutely brilliant stay and we would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, idyllic weekend away! Highly recommend a stay here. The hut is fantastic, finished to a high standard with a comfortable bed. It is in the most beautiful setting surrounded by fields of sheep and there are incredible beaches a short drive away. It is worth noting that there are two shepherds huts which share the area together however it feels very private. We came with Read moreour dog and brought a long lead that was very useful to have especially as the entrance gate is mostly open (can be closed). Hide

Lavender Hut offered us a really cosy and comfortable stay with our 11 year old Rough Collie! She loved relaxing in the outdoor space before and after days out in beautiful Pembrokeshire. The hut is well equipped, and it made a relaxing change for us to live on just one level for a few days instead of 3 and have almost everything in arm's reach!
