Property code: OC-88346

In the heart of the countryside, close to the Brecon Beacons with views of nearby hills, this luxury barn conversion provides spacious family accommodation and a relaxing place to stay. The luxury touches extend outside, with a large lawn, a stone circle, a wigwam, two seating areas, and matching cast iron bathtubs in a secluded spot for an outdoor soak.

Many original features have been retained adding to the property’s charm and character. The light and bright kitchen/diner has a Range cooker and a dining table for six, and space to relax on the sofa. The spacious lounge is down two steps where you can get together to play games or watch TV in front of the wood burner, and bi-fold doors lead outside. Also down two steps are two of the three bedrooms: the super-king-size (which can be made up as a twin) and the double, both beautifully decorated and sharing the Jack and Jill bathroom. The master bedroom is up the wooden staircase in the mezzanine and has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom. The garden has quirky features for relaxing, dining, playing, admiring sunsets and stargazing, with a big lawn, a romantic seating area and shelter, a patio, a stone circle and wigwam, and twin bathtubs.

Being on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and 3 miles from Pontardawe, this is a great location for exploring different areas. Go out on walks from the house or head to the Gower Peninsula (16 miles) to explore the coast and the Mumbles. The Black Mountains are 5 miles away and the Brecon Beacons National Park is 4.5 miles away. For a family day out, visit Dan Yr Ogof Showcaves (9 miles) and Carreg Cennen Castle (7 miles) or take a picnic to Margam Country Park (15 miles).

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage over Christmas. The owners could not be more helpful and had decorated the house. It looked lovely. Cottage was warm and very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Best cottage we have stayed at, over the years. Hopefully we can return again. Thank you

We had a wonderful week at The Old Barn and we would not hesitate to recommend it for a holiday. The barn is so spacious, with beautiful views and we all really enjoyed the outside baths - so much better than a hot tub. Four of us booked a week at this property. All took raincoats as it rained most days but we still had excellent days out at NT Tredegar & Dinefwr, Aberglasney, The Gower, The Brecon Beacons, Black Mountain and places en route. A beautifully refurbished three-bedroom barn with all the necessary amenities and the novelty of the outside baths. Good location for a holiday in the hills of the Brecon Beacons or on the beaches of Swansea and the Gower. Friendly, welcoming and attentive hosts who were very generous with their time. Adults and children all loved it!
