Nestled near the quaint village of Llanrhystud (2 miles), this charming cottage exudes timeless Welsh allure and is perfect for a small family or a group of friends. Explore the serene beaches along Cardigan Bay, starting with Llanrhystud Beach (within 3 miles), where sandy shores meet the rhythmic lull of the waves. 

This lovely property was tastefully renovated in 2023 by the Welsh owners, while maintaining its traditional charm. Step inside to a cosy haven with exposed wooden beams. Relax on the sofa or armchairs and snuggle up in front of the cosy wood burner on cooler evenings, enjoy quality time watching your favourite TV programmes on the Smart TV. The kitchen/diner has a modern finish with a Smart TV and is fully equipped to cook up a storm. Once the meal is prepared, gather around the farmhouse dining table to eat and plan the next day’s adventures together. There is a downstairs single bedroom and a spacious modern shower room. On the first floor are two further bedrooms, the spacious master double with a Smart TV and plenty of storage space for personal belongings, and a lovely bunk room with some original features, both decorated with country flair and with lovely views of the sea.

This property sits alone and is surrounded by lush green pastures. The fenced-off garden provides a secure and private sanctuary, its boundaries adorned with hedges, creating a tranquil haven to enjoy dining al fresco.

Aberaeron is in one direction (7 miles), with a wide variety of restaurants and ice cream parlours and shops. Head for the Moody Cow Farm Shop (10.5 miles) to entertain the children with outdoor and indoor soft play, whilst you relax with a nice warm cuppa and a slice of cake. Driving down the coast - there are dozens of amazing beaches within 30 miles; including Llangrannog, Tresaith, New Quay (boat trips to see dolphins) and Cwmtydu. Aberystwyth (11 miles) is in the other direction with a variety of shops, restaurants and activities such as Vale of Rheidol Railway, Constitution Hill, Cinema, Bowling, Rheidol Riding Centre and many more. In the midlands of Ceredigion, there are plenty of beautiful and peaceful remote walks including Mynydd Bach, Trefenter and Llyn Eiddwen incredible spot for sightseeing, all within 5 miles. Tregaron (11.5 miles) leads you to the Cambrian Mountains. Closer to home, go and explore the local area where there is a variety of activities to partake in including Fantasy Farm Park (less than 0.5 miles) where children can explore the play areas and feed the animals or go to the Penrhos Golf Club (1.5 miles) where there is a swimming pool nearby. There are plenty of local pubs and restaurants nearby to relax in after a fun filled day exploring the local area.

Stayed in this beautiful farmhouse cottage over the May half term with the family. Location was ideal and within easy drive of Cardigan Bay and Aberystwyth. The hosts were really friendly and made us feel welcome upon arrival. The vibe of the cottage was home away from home. We had a brilliant stay. Very friendly owners. House has everything you need. Secluded but within good distance of a couple of coastal Towns. Will definitely go back again.

Really glad that we found this place and believed the positive comments left by others. The holiday was a joy from start to finish, even despite the wind and inevitable rain. The house has been carefully and thoughtfully refurbished. We loved the secluded location far from neighbours and the private garden. It was nice to have a decent sized table Read moreand modern kitchen; the home grown veggie basket on arrival was appreciated and cooking at leisure was part of the fun. We had a lovely welcome and everything we needed, including a small but cosy fire. This was the cleanest holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. It has been lovingly renovated and the location is amazing - loads to see and do locally and its also possible to visit North or South Wales in a day. We had an amazing holiday here and hope to return.

The cottage was lovely as were the owners of the property who were very welcoming. On arrival we received a welcome pack which was lovely! The cottage was spotlessly clean, had a beautiful enclosed garden and suited our needs entirely. We found the cottage very comfortable and peaceful.

Lovely property in a peaceful location which sits alone surrounded by countryside, has everything you need and a very comfortable bed. We were met by the owner with a very warm welcome then left to enjoy the peace. Great base to explore the area, just a few minutes to local village with shop etc, Welcome pack was a lovely touch.

Gorgeous cottage, wonderful scenery and wildlife. Away from it all, but close enough to all you should need. There is everything you need in the cottage for your stay, well fitted kitchen with a fridge freezer, oven, amazing shower, even excellent WiFi for the kids! Maenllwyd is such a lovely cottage, we had a fantastic holiday here and fully intend to come again next year, if not before. Its beautiful inside and out, with a fully enclosed private garden for enjoying the sun and spotting red kites and gold finches, plenty of parking too. The cosy house is decorated in a lovely artful style and the large kitcheRead moren is better equipped than my home, in fact I dont think we have stayed in such a well thought cottage before! Its set in stunning countryside and very peaceful but easy to get to local anmenities and so close to the beaches and lots of great walks. Rhodri and Meleri were smashing hosts and the welcome gifts were much appreciated especially the delicious home picked salad which we loved, not to mention the Welsh cakes which also disappeared the first evening! This friendly family greeted us on arrival to hand over keys, they live locally so are on hand should you need help, but are not intrusive. The cottage is in a peaceful pretty location, with distant sea views and fabulous starry night skies. It is a charming old building well equipped with a modern kitchen and bathroom, spacious bedrooms and a loveRead morely secluded south/west facing sunny garden and loads of safe parking. Within easy reach of several beaches and towns. A local shop, pub, and petrol station all within a few minutes drive. We met with the owners again to hand back the keys and they welcomed any suggestions on how to make the cottage even more appealing, although as it was pretty much perfect our ideas were very minor. We had a wonderful stay at Maenllwyd and it was a pleasure dealing with Meleri and Rhodri. The cottage is clean, comfortable and functional in a pretty tucked away lane with beautiful surroundings. Close to Aberystwyth and some smaller sleepy villages - ideal for walking, cycling or mooching around.

Very lovely house and perfect for a family getaway. The owners were very friendly and left some welcome gifts, including eggs from their farm, which was a really nice gesture. The garden was secure and the kids spent hours playing there. We could find no faults with the property and would love to stay again.

I completely fell in love with this cottage! The mix of the modern with the traditional and the individual touches made it such a comforting and relaxing place to be. We really loved our week at the cottage, it was a beautiful place and with beautiful furnishings. I don't think I've ever stayed somewhere so immaculate before! The welcome goodies were such a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. Excellent, comfortable and spacious cottage, carefully renovated by the friendly owners. Lots of personal touches, all the essentials done to a high standard but with a homely feel. Upstairs bedrooms had views west over the pretty garden to the sea beyond. Lots of interesting places to visit on the doorstep or within 20 mins drive. Fantasy farm parRead morek easy walking distance for those with young children. Cottage is surrounded by a working farm but very peaceful and quiet. Hosts extremely welcoming and helpful. Tip: It gets proper dark at night (a good thing). We took plug in nightlights for bedroom and top of stairs, which were helpful. We'll be back sometime if we can afford it. Worth every penny this year but we took advantage of a discounted week at the beginning of the summer holidays. (Our jobs and our teenager still in full-time education mean we are restricted to school holidays for breaks.) Big thanks to the cottage owners Rhodri and Meleri, for making us so welcome. Diolch! Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of Wales. Very spacious / modern kitchen complete with old fashioned kitchen table. Great for sitting around in the evening eating and talking. Log burner threw off loads of heat and a nice feature in the lounge. Nice garden , although we didnt use it much, but would be great for a barbecue. Ideal for a family.
