Located in the village of Scurlage, on the Gower Peninsula, sits this charming one-bedroom cottage. Close to beautiful beaches and coastal paths, it’s an ideal retreat for couples looking to immerse themselves in nature. From the property, it’s 4 miles to Oxwich Bay, a family-friendly sandy beach. It’s a good place to relax, swim or walk the dog. From here, walkers can enjoy a 7.5-mile scenic hike to Rhossili Bay and Worm’s Head. At the end of Rhossili Bay, Worm’s Head offers a hiking trail and plenty of wildlife including seals, buzzards, and red kites.

Originally a two-stall livery, the property has been converted with care and attention into a cheerful home. Beautifully appointed, a sense of comfortable elegance sweeps through the open-plan ground floor. Framed artwork and a reclining sofa make the lounge an inviting spot, while floor-to-ceiling windows drench the space in natural, uplifting light. Relax and watch a film on the TV or unwind in the armchair with a good book. The neat kitchen features all the appliances you’ll need to create a delicious meal, then you can serve it at the dining table with seating for four people. The bedroom is on the first floor and is accessed via a staircase. Furnished in creamy tones, it’s a soothing space and features a double bed, skylights, and a huge front window. There’s also a TV for your entertainment and an en-suite shower room.

Outside, a patio dotted with potted plants is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy afternoon tea. The large garden, shared with two other cottages on the site, is a tranquil space.

Scurlage is an excellent base to explore the Gower, as it is centrally located as well as having a reasonably sized shop. It is also close to Port Enyon, which has Pub, a Restaurant, a small cafe and a couple of Fish and Chip shops, as well as a lovely beach.

The owners have done a great job of making use of the space available. However the space is tight upstairs for tall adults. The place was spotless and we'll equipped. We used the PYO Strawberry place over the road every day. The local beaches are sensational and parking charges significantly cheaper than Cornwall and Devon. Recommend doing food shoRead morepping before you set up as no supermarket nearby. Local store OK for every day essentials. Hide

The pigsty was great, very neat, tidy, clean and quite swish with all we needed to enjoy our stay. If back on the Gower peninsular would like to stay there again.
