This charming cottage, an ideal romantic getaway or relaxing retreat for two, sits in an elevated position just half a mile from the centre of the popular seaside resort of Saundersfoot. Here there is a great selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, and lots to do, centred around the village’s coast and beaches – walk the coast path, learn to paddleboard, take a sea safari from the harbour to spot dolphins, seals, porpoises and sea birds, or go on a fishing trip to catch mackerel, bass or even shark. The National Trust’s Colby Woodland Garden is 4.5 miles away, a lovely spot for a walk and a picnic, and the picturesque village of Tenby is just 3.5 miles away, where there are four gorgeous beaches and more lovely shops and eateries. From here, in summer you can also catch a boat for a day trip to the holy Caldey Island. Not to be missed is a visit to Pembroke Castle, one of Britain’s finest castles, 12 miles away, and you may also want to venture to Picton Castle, a 13th century castle with beautiful gardens and grounds, 15.5 miles.
The single-storey cottage has two lovely reception rooms in which to relax – a lounge with distinctive exposed-stone walls and a wood burner which you can snuggle up next to after a day out exploring, and a separate reading room for those quiet moments of contemplation. The kitchen has plenty of cupboard and worktop space for easy or adventurous cooking, and the stylish bedroom has a double bed and a hanging rack with shelves. A bright and airy shower room completes the interior.
Outside, you can enjoy views over the harbour from the chairs in the front courtyard, while those who can manage the challenging steps up to the more private seating area at the side of the cottage will be greeted with a place to BBQ and enjoy a meal alfresco, as well as further lovely views over Saundersfoot and the coast.
