The Old Ambulance Station – 5 Luxury on the Gower

Set in the welcoming village of Reynoldston in the heart of the spectacular Gower Peninsula, this spacious and beautifully appointed property offers a stylish base for couples, families and friends seeking a relaxing coastal escape. Sleeping six guests and welcoming up to three dogs, it’s perfectly suited to everything from sociable gatherings to peaceful walking holidays, with the famous sands of Oxwich Bay or Rhossili Bay just a few miles away.

Standing on the site of the village’s former ambulance station, the house sits opposite the historic St George’s Church and combines traditional character with modern comfort, including underfloor heating, solar power and a cosy wood burner – making it an inviting retreat whatever the season. Reynoldston itself is one of Gower’s most vibrant rural villages, with a friendly pub serving good food and local ales, while walkers, cyclists and nature lovers will find outstanding countryside on the doorstep. Nearby highlights include the iconic King Arthur's Stone, the sweeping ridge of Cefn Bryn and the fascinating limestone caverns of Cathole Cave.

Inside, the property is designed for relaxed socialising and comfortable downtime. The welcoming lounge features a wood burner, Smart TV and comfortable leather seating, while glass doors lead to a bright garden dining room with a striking double-height ceiling and French doors opening onto the garden. The well-equipped kitchen provides another informal dining space, and a handy utility room keeps things practical after beach days or muddy walks. For entertainment, a dedicated games room with pool table and family-friendly games offers the perfect retreat on cooler evenings or rainy days.

Upstairs, three tastefully decorated bedrooms provide restful spaces to unwind. The luxurious super-king-size room features an en-suite shower room and access to a charming mezzanine reading area. Two additional king-size bedrooms offer comfort and flexibility for couples or families, one benefiting from its own en-suite shower room, while a stylish family bathroom completes the first floor.

Outside, the fully enclosed garden provides a safe and private space for children and dogs, with a decked terrace and comfortable outdoor seating ideal for relaxed al fresco dining on sunny days. To the front of the property, a gated private driveway offers secure off-road parking for two to three cars. After a day exploring the dramatic coastline and countryside of the Gower Peninsula, guests can unwind in the private hot tub – the perfect place to relax and soak beneath the stars.
