A splendid two-storey property situated in the heart of a picturesque coastal village, this is the ideal location for an active or relaxing holiday all year round for a family, couple or group of friends. Within an easy drive to explore the Gower Peninsula, the property is also less than 500 metres from Oystermouth Castle and less than 0.5 miles from the seafront. There are three pretty beaches within a mile - Lambs Well Beach, Rotherslade Bay and the surfing beach at Langland Bay - and Mumbles Hill Local Nature Reserve is just a mile away. For walkers, the woodlands and hiking trails of Penllergaer Valley Wood are just 9 miles away. The Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is within a mile of the property.

This is an elegant home with attractive decor and furnishings, and wonderful attention to detail. On the ground floor, there's a light and airy lounge with a beautiful wood burner, a Smart TV, sofas and a love seat. The cottage-style kitchen is fully equipped, and the spacious dining room has a farmhouse-style table and benches. Upstairs, there's a king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom, as well as a Victorian-style bathroom. The loft room is a nice addition to this lovely home and offers seating and a Smart TV.

Outside, an enclosed garden with a lawned area and patio furniture makes for an ideal dining space in good weather.

Great cottage in an amazing location - restaurants and food shops on your door step (shout out to the butchers, the Italian and the specialist off licence) - plan on booking again

lovely home, very welcoming, clean and cosy! Excellent communication, we needed help with the heating and it was dealt with promptly! We would stay here again in a heartbeat, very easy to walk to town and sea front!

Excellent location, great for visiting the Gower and Mumbles with all shops and pubs just around the corner. If you like cooking, need to bring some own equipment.

Folly cottage was in a great position with a secure garden perfect for our dogs. The furniture was in good condition and comfortable. The lack of hairdryer was a surprise as normally that is a standard. Also lack of welcome gift - milk bread butter was also a surprise considering the cost of the accommodation. However we would love to return next Read moreyear as overall we where happy with Folly cottage and the Mumbles is beautiful. Hide

The lowest score down to there being no hair drier in the property. I usually take mine however I didnt this year as we have always had one at the properties we have stayed at. Had to go out and buy one.

Very enjoyable experience in a nice property situated in a good base location for exploring The Gower. Would definitely recommend getting the temporary residents parking permit in good time before arrival, although we did find parking spaces in the street in the none permit parts.

We had a great week in this cottage. It was the perfect position for taking dogs for a walk. There were beaches 10 minutes walk up or down the road from the cottage. As it was early January the weather was a bit questionable but the cottage was so cosy, it didnt matter.

A very comfortable, well equipped cottage in walking distance of Mumbles. Parking can be difficult but there is always parking in town.

Great location in Mumbles. The cottage is somewhat generic (everything sourced from Ikea, no real personality, but efficient nonetheless). The lighting is problematic. I had to replace the bulbs in the stovetop hood (5 quid). The lighting throughout is either blinding (6 bulbs on all the ceiling lights would need to be on a dimmer in order to use tRead morehem) or not where it is needed. The kitchen is dark and needs lighting over the countertops. Folly Cottage was warm and bright with natural light (save for the dining room). The reading lights in the main bedroom are useless (not suitable for reading in bed, but used in the dining room instead of the blinding lights over the dining table). Another issue is the parking. You do state that there is a very small parking space available. It is, unfortunately, at the end of a "laneway", basically two eight inch ruts leading to the parking area. Impossible to navigate and manoeuvre into the space. I think it might be better not to offer this parking option. It is impractical. It was very stressful on the one attempt to use it. On street parking proved to be manageable. Overall a reasonably pleasant experience. Will not stay here again. Thank you for promptly returning the 200 pound security deposit! Folly Cottage was so nearly perfect and only have a few criticisms . The first being that the bed in the main bedroom is extremely uncomfortable and had many a sleep less night which was helped by the traffic noise. Also the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work, not an issue but worth a mention. Otherwise we found Folly Cottage lovely ??
