Property code: OC-HH411

Escape to this characterful chalet-style property, surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Gower. With two bedrooms, a sofa bed, two lounges and a lovely outside space, this quirky property has more than enough room for a family or group of up to six people and their dogs. This property is near Pennard (0.5 miles), where you’ll find general stores, pubs, amenities and the Pennard Golf Course. A walk or drive of around 1.5 miles will take you to Three Cliffs Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in Wales, if not the whole of Britain. The Gower area is renowned for its natural beauty, adventure sports, hiking trails and wildlife-watching opportunities. However, if you prefer more urban exploits, Swansea, with all its shops, entertainment, and nightlife, is just 8 miles away.

This unique property is built in the style of an Alpine chalet. Approach the house via a paved lawn path and step up onto the pretty wooden porch. Enter the chalet and walk through the beautifully finished kitchen into a large, airy living area with a high beamed ceiling, comfortable leather sofas, a wood burner, and a dining table with seating for six. Also on the ground floor are two bathrooms - one with a bath and one with a wet room-style shower - plus a separate cloakroom with WC for added convenience. The two ground-floor bedrooms comprise one king-size, and one single with an additional pull-out bed if required. The single bedroom has French doors leading onto the porch. Climb the wooden stairs from the lounge to the mezzanine level to find a second lounge space with three sofas and a wooden balcony rail which you can peer over at the lounge below. One of the sofas can be converted into a double bed if required.

Glass doors lead outside from the mezzanine to a wooden balcony offering stunning views of the Gower peninsula, coastline and spectacular Three Cliffs Bay. A table and chairs make this an idyllic place to sit out with a coffee or a book. In addition to the mezzanine balcony and the front porch, this property has a large front lawn and a terraced back garden complete with a deck area and a raised patio. The patio is home to furniture and a parasol, and enjoys beautiful views of the countryside and coast. A gate leads from the garden to a public footpath around Pennard Golf Course.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 single with additional pull-out single
  • 2 bathrooms – 1 bathroom with bath and WC, 1 wet room with shower and WC, plus 1 separate WC
  • Gas hob, extractor fan, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave
  • Wood burner
  • Underfloor heating
  • TV, DVD
  • Balcony with seating, and rear terraced garden with a deck and a patio, comfortable furniture and parasol, plus direct access to Pennard Golf Course
  • Private parking
  • Shop, pub and beach 1 mile
  • Low, sloping ceilings with reduced head height on the mezzanine
  • Please note, access to the property is via an unmade road, and although there are potholes, it is suitable for most vehicles
  • Sleeps 4+2: 1 double sofa bed in the mezzanine lounge (bed linen and towels not provided)
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 2 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

Nice unusual property with a lovely view across the golf course to the sea from the upper balcony area. Well enough equipped for our needs and very clean. (Although a tea towel that was left for us looked liked a rag someone had wiped their hands on after changing the oil in their car). The short walk to the beach is quite a gruelling hike but loveRead morely. As mentioned by numerous other guests the access road is atrocious, a journey you only want to make once a day. Hide

The lodge is fantastic, clean, comfortable and spacious with all the facilities we needed. It is set in a wonderful part of the world with views from the property to die for! It has been home from home, and the dogs have enjoyed their space in the garden too. We will definitely come again!

Gorgeous house with amazing direct access to the beach (across the golf course) - we really appreciated the space (during what was quite a wet week in May..) The garden and outdoor setting areas are a lovely bonus too. Its a quirky estate, but once you have got used to it (and the potholes) its no bother. Woodview is a very nice property and comfortably furnished inside. The location is to die for and perfect for both children and dogs. Beyond your local Three Cliffs Bay there are many other walks and beaches including Rhosilli (one of the best in Europe) but check tide times before you venture too far.

Amazing house. Spacious and clean. The road to the house is dreadful and put me off driving anywhere. Bushes that lead to golf course and beach need cutting back to avoid regular stings. Loved the visit from the cows, front and back!

We thought the cottage was very comfortable and enjoyed staying in it. We loved the feel of the Sandy Lane area, but our biggest issue was getting along the very bumpy Sandy Lane to the cottage in my Yaris. We parked on a nearby road all week so that we still had a car to drive home in! We found lots of lovely walks to do throughout the Gower. TheRead more path down to Three Cliffs bay was further than we thought and challenging for two, not so fit, 73 yr olds! Recommend visitors try the cliff paths over in the Southgate area. Hide
