A homely holiday cottage on the coast, split across two storeys and an excellent base for a group of friends or families seeking a special seaside getaway. Located in the quiet village of Horton on the Gower Peninsula, there’s a nearby tea room and chocolate shop (both less than 0.5 miles). In the neighbouring village, Port Eynon (0.5 miles), there are a handful of shops and pubs. The beaches in these two villages are popular with surfers, so don’t forget to bring your wetsuit.
This cottage oozes charm, felt from the moment you step inside. The kitchen boasts a characterful stone floor and farmhouse-style, single-wall fitted units with wooden surface tops. From the back of the room, you can benefit from an unobstructed view through to the glass french door, which leads out onto the garden. To the left of the room, there is a table and chairs for six people to dine at after cooking a hearty meal on the Range cooker. Continue into the open-plan living/dining room, which has a rustic feel from the contemporary lighting and natural dark wooden furnishings. If you’d like a change from the kitchen dining option, the spacious wooden dining table in this room is an excellent choice for a more formal occasion. Inside the living area, you will find a large wooden chest and an L-shaped leather sofa to sink into in front of the TV while you warm your toes in front of the crackling wood burner. A separate WC is also on the first floor. Climb the stairs to reach the first floor and find four bedrooms and a family bathroom. The bathroom boasts sleek and stylish dark, tiled flooring and walls, a spacious walk-in rainfall shower, and a free-standing, rolltop bath to relax and rejuvenate. The romantic master bedroom boasts a super-king-size bed and wooden shutters on the double-aspect windows, which look out onto the beach. The second bedroom also boasts sea views and has a king-size bed. The third bedroom is a double, and the fourth offers space to sleep three on a bunk bed and a separate single bed.
To the rear of the property, you’ll find a spacious garden with a patio area accessed via the lounge or kitchen. If the weather permits, the large bench is an excellent space for enjoying the company of your guests while dining alfresco. The garden also has a large grassy area lined by fencing and hedgerow.
