Tucked amid 100 acres of wood and grassland with spectacular views over the Loughor Estuary and the North Gower countryside, this traditional Welsh cottage makes a wonderful base for a family or group of friends. Part of the owner’s farmhouse that’s been converted into a self-contained holiday cottage, this is a location much loved by walkers, wildlife watchers and cyclists with walking trails, cycling routes and nature reserves all around. The entire Gower Peninsula is at your fingertips from the beaches of Rhossili and Broughton Bay (11 and 8 miles respectively) to the historic site of King Arthur’s Stone (4.5 miles) and the cosmopolitan seaside resort of Mumbles (12 miles). Alternatively, the waterfront city of Swansea is just over 10 miles away.
This is a two-storey cottage with a warm and welcoming ambience, and lovely original features throughout. The ground floor has a light and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, set beneath a beamed ceiling. The lounge has two comfortable sofas, a wood burner, and a TV next to patio doors leading into the garden. At the other end of the room is a fitted farmhouse-style kitchen with a dining table for six. There’s also a utility room and a downstairs shower room with WC. Wooden stairs lead up from the lounge to the first-floor bedrooms. There’s a double with an en-suite shower room, two twin rooms, and a family bathroom – you can choose two bedrooms and two bathrooms that best suit your needs.
Patio doors from the lounge lead into a large rear garden that’s mostly laid to lawn, with a patio and picnic table next to the cottage, and sweeping views over the countryside and estuary.
