Tucked amid 100 acres of wood and grassland with spectacular views over the Loughor Estuary and the North Gower countryside, this traditional Welsh cottage offers the ideal romantic retreat for two. Part of the owner’s farmhouse that’s been converted into a self-contained holiday cottage, the location is perfect for walkers, bird watchers and cyclists, with walking trails and cycling routes all around, and some beautiful nature reserves. You can explore the entire Gower Peninsula from here, from the spectacular beach at Rhossili (11 miles) to remote Broughton Bay (8 miles), and historic King Arthur’s Stone (4.5 miles) to the cosmopolitan seaside resort of Mumbles (12 miles). If you fancy a day in the city, Swansea is just over 10 miles away.
This is a two-storey cottage with a warm and welcoming ambience. The ground floor has a light and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, set beneath a beamed ceiling. The lounge has two comfortable sofas, a wood burner, and a TV next to patio doors leading into the garden. At the other end of the room is a fitted farmhouse-style kitchen with a dining table for six. There’s also a utility room and a downstairs shower room with WC. Wooden stairs lead up from the lounge to the first-floor bedrooms. Here you can choose the best configuration to suit your needs, either a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, or a twin room with a separate bathroom.
Patio doors from the lounge lead into a large rear garden that’s mostly laid to lawn, with a patio and picnic table next to the cottage, and sweeping views over the countryside and estuary.
