Set amid rolling countryside in the hamlet of Middleton just outside Rhossili, this delightful two-storey cottage offers the perfect escape for a family or group of friends looking to explore the Gower Peninsula. Located at the south-west tip of Gower, Rhossili is best known for its stunning sweep of golden sand (1 miles), the remains of a shipwreck, and Worm’s Head, a tidal island just off the coast. The area is much loved by walkers, with Rhossili Down on your doorstep and the Wales Coast Path and Gower Way passing nearby. And don’t forget your binoculars – it’s a great area for birdwatching! The vibrant seaside resort of Mumbles (16 miles) marks the start of the Gower Peninsula, and there are plenty of beaches, archaeological sites and dramatic landscapes to explore in between. If you need an urban fix, the city of Swansea is just 18 miles away.
This is a traditional three-bedroom cottage with its very own blue plaque as it was the birthplace of the explorer Edgar Evans. The main living space is a light-filled lounge/diner set beneath a traditional beamed ceiling, with a selection of comfortable sofas, a TV and a dining table. The room has picture windows and patio doors on one side to make the most of the wonderful views. Along the corridor, there’s a spacious kitchen with a flagstone floor, and a lovely family bathroom. Stairs lead up from the dining area to three tastefully presented bedrooms, two doubles and a triple, along with an upstairs cloakroom.
The cottage benefits from a rear garden with a gravel patio and outdoor dining table, so guests can enjoy a meal or drink alfresco while admiring the superb views across the countryside and out to sea.
