Check into this 200-year-old, pet-friendly cottage with traditional spaces and luxurious features like the hot tub, for a delightful family or couples’ getaway in West Wales, located opposite a farm smallholding with the surrounding countryside and also near the coast. If you fancy a family beach day, head to colourful Aberaeron (6 miles) where there’s a beach offering watersports like sailing or canoeing and a lovely Georgian town to wander around. Head to the harbour to see the boats, plan a fishing trip and refresh at the water-view cafes. Further afield, the picturesque seaside town of New Quay is worth a visit as you can take exciting boat trips to watch dolphins on Cardigan Bay, walk along the pier and harbour, and explore the surrounding secluded coves. Family holiday? Take a trip to Fantasy Farm Park (2 miles), where the kids can spot animals, explore nature trails and have fun in the play areas.

Make yourself at home in this traditionally-styled cottage, where the cosy lounge is full of country chic decor and quirky accessories. Settle on the sofas and play the board games by the woodburner as a family. Admire the traditional bread maker in the wall, a lovely and unusual central feature. Home-cooked dinners can be rustled up in the kitchen and enjoyed at the four-seater round table. The ground-floor bathroom is recently refurbished with large panelled shower cubicle while there’s a handy utility room featuring a washing machine and space to discard muddy outdoor gear after your countryside or coastal adventures. The utility room has a side entrance to the property. When it’s time to turn in, head to the ground-floor’s cosy double bedroom with ceiling beams; or the first-floor, gallery-style twin bedroom that boasts ceiling beams and a rustic stone wall.

Create more holiday memories together in the enclosed, plant-strewn garden, whether you’re al fresco dining at the four-seater patio table or indulging in some outdoor pampering in the bubbling hot tub (accessed via steps). There’s even more space to enjoy in additional shared areas across the smallholding, where you can take peaceful walks to admire the natural surroundings.

The accommodation was easy to find, clean, comfortable and was situated in a lovely area that was accessible to all the local tourist areas. The host also let us have access to an area to run my dog. Was lovely ending the day chilling jn the hot tub.

Ty clyd is a stunning little place, with a lovely host. Hot tub was amazing and the little touches by Teresa the host such as milk, eggs and welsh cakes on arrival was a bonus.
