Check into this 200-year-old, pet-friendly cottage with traditional spaces and luxurious features like the hot tub, for a delightful family or couples’ getaway in West Wales, located opposite a farm smallholding with the surrounding countryside and also near the coast. Situated deep in the Ceredigion countryside, discover the perfect getaway for you and your furry companions! This property boasts plenty of opportunities to dine and engage in fun activities for the whole family. Visit the nearby local pub, Rhos yr Hafod, for a refreshing drink after a day of exploration. Head to the Moody Cow Farm Shop & Welsh Bistro, where your kids can enjoy the play barn or the new, exciting indoor trampoline park and assault course. Don’t miss out on Aberaeron a 20 minute drive towards the coast, a charming locale filled with dog-friendly restaurants, cafes, and pubs, ensuring that everyone in the family, including your beloved pets, can enjoy a delightful day out. Take a walk along the Wales Coast Path whilst admiring the glistening sea, or get on a boat and spot some friendly bottlenose dolphins. Head inland and you'll come to the historic market town of Tregaron which is a gateway to the Cambrian Mountains. All amenities are available here too, and instead of a walk along the coast, you can take a walk along parts of the River Brennig which flows right through the town. A visit to the Tregaron Red Kite Centre and Museum is a must, and if you'd like to see the Red Kites, head up to Cors Caron Nature Reserve. Other great places to visit that the whole family will enjoy include Llanerchaeron, near Aberaeron - a magnificent Georgian Villa with a walled garden, a farmyard and wildlife to spot, Fantasy Farm Park near Llanrhystud or you can visit beaches such as the one in Llanrhystud, Llanon or New Quay to name just a few that are situated along the beautiful Cardigan Bay. The location will certainly suit everyone.

Make yourself at home in this traditionally-styled cottage, where the cosy lounge is full of country chic decor and quirky accessories. Settle on the sofas and play the board games by the woodburner as a family. Admire the traditional bread maker in the wall, a lovely and unusual central feature. Home-cooked dinners can be rustled up in the kitchen and enjoyed at the four-seater round table. The ground-floor bathroom is recently refurbished with large panelled shower cubicle while there’s a handy utility room featuring a washing machine and space to discard muddy outdoor gear after your countryside or coastal adventures. The utility room has a side entrance to the property. When it’s time to turn in, head to the ground-floor’s cosy double bedroom with ceiling beams; or the first-floor, gallery-style twin bedroom that boasts ceiling beams and a rustic stone wall.

Create more holiday memories together in the plant-strewn garden, whether you’re al fresco dining at the four-seater patio table or indulging in some outdoor pampering in the bubbling hot tub (accessed via steps). The enclosed garden area also features a small gas BBQ and a cosy fire pit, offering a wonderful space for relaxation during cooler evenings. There’s even more space to enjoy in additional shared areas across the smallholding, where you can take peaceful walks to admire the natural surroundings.

The cottage is lovely and cosy, definitely has old-world vibes with some great original features. Location is remote, exactly what we were after, but easy to get to Aberystwyth and other local towns by car. Hot tub is fantastic, and the owner was a lovely host - highly recommend for a cosy getaway.

We had a fantastic holiday at Ty Clyd Cottage. The cottage itself was beautiful perfectly clean, comfortable, and very well equipped with everything we needed. By chance, we discovered that the owners mother was a friend of my wifes mum many, many years ago, which made the stay feel even more special! The hot tub was a real treat after long Read moredays out exploring, and the location couldnt have been better: peaceful and quiet, yet within walking distance to a local pub and shop. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely stay again next time were in Wales. Highly recommended! Hide
