Get the whole gang together at this gorgeous, historic cottage ideally located halfway between St Davids and Fishguard. Sitting within the Pembrokeshire National Park, it’s surrounded by stunning scenery. Grab your hiking boots and take a walk to Carreg Sampson (1 mile), a Neolithic burial chamber. Legend has it that St Sampson placed the capstone in position using only his little finger. Alternatively, pack up a picnic and head to the picturesque cove at Abercastle (300 metres) to enjoy an al fresco lunch on the beach. Make your way into St Davids (9 miles) to explore its 12th-century cathedral and Bishop’s Palace, or pack your binoculars and head to St Justinians (11 miles) to catch a boat to Ramsey Island to see the seabirds. Alternatively, go surfing at Whitesands Bay (10 miles), or to Porthgain (4 miles) to browse the art galleries.
Step inside and you’ll find a spacious open-plan kitchen/dining room at the heart of the cottage. You’ll find everything you need to let your culinary skills shine in the stylish kitchen area, while the dining area is beautifully complemented by a warming wood burner in a large inglenook fireplace. There’s a cosy separate lounge where you can slip onto a sofa to relax in front of the TV. A large family bathroom with a roll-top bath and a separate shower room complete the ground-floor layout. Head upstairs and you’ll find three lovely bedrooms – one king-size, one twin and one bedroom with a single bed downstairs and a king-size bed on a mezzanine floor, accessed via stairs from the single bedroom.
Outside, you’ll discover a pretty enclosed garden with a slate patio area and a raised lawn. There’s a BBQ and table and chairs for al fresco dining.
