This delightful property, sleeping four guests, offers a lovely rural retreat just 7 miles from the golden sandy beaches of New Quay and the beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay. New Quay is a quaint village where you can walk along the seafront to the end of the quay and watch small fishing boats and pleasure craft pass by. Relax in one of the cafes overlooking the sheltered harbour and spot bottlenose dolphins, regularly seen here as they follow shoals of mackerel. Take a boat trip for a closer view of sea life along the beautiful Cardigan Bay Marine Heritage Coast. Enjoy an exhilarating coastal walk to secluded Cwm Tydu Cove (3 miles), also known as Seals’ Bay after the resident seals who rest on the beach. Georgian houses are a charming sight in the pretty harbour town of Aberaeron (7.6 miles) and there is another architectural gem nearby – the National Trust’s Llanerchaeron Estate (4.5 miles). Here, the elegant Georgian villa designed by John Nash in the 1790s has remained largely untouched for more than 200 years.

The ground-floor, open-plan living/dining area is light and airy, with original beams in the high ceiling and an impressive feature stone and granite wall housing a wood burner effect oil fire. A pair of comfortable sofas, one of them a sofa bed which can sleep two guests, are an invitation to relax and watch the SMART TV in front of the cosy wood burner. An elegant dining table and coordinating chairs lead to a galley kitchen with country-style units. There are two pretty bedrooms: a double with exposed beams, and a twin. The family bathroom has a shower cubicle and WC, with additional mobility aids. A shared laundry room has a sink, washer/dryer and freeze, with a drying area for wet coats and boots. It also serves as an indoor games room, with snooker and football tables, a dartboard and table tennis.

Outside, a patio to the front of the cottage has lovely views and garden furniture, with a BBQ. A separate, decked area houses a hot tub, shared with guests from three camping pods and overlooking the fishing lake where you can fish for trout. A play area with swings, a slide and a trampoline is perfect for children.

A great find. We loved the hot tub and games room. A great welcome and the hosts were so helpful. Our stay was too short, we will be back.

Beautiful place, thoroughly enjoyed all the facilities. Lovely fresh meals locally. Had an enjoyable walk in Devils Bridge and amazing scenery on the way. National Trust site at Llanerchaeron. Moody Cow was another great find for food and Moody Calf next door had a soft play facility, Hot tub, games room and the amazing starry nights were a hit.
