Nestled in the small village of Maenclochog in the foothills of the Preseli Mountains, this delightful stone cottage offers a tranquil stay in the heart of rural Pembrokeshire. Fully refurbished and finished to a high standard throughout, this dog-friendly cottage sleeps six guests in three bedrooms, making it ideal for a family-friendly break or a getaway with friends. With gorgeous walking and cycling trails all around and the coast within 11 miles, it’s a great base for exploring the very best of Pembrokeshire.

Lovingly renovated to combine original features with contemporary design, this atmospheric cottage is stylish and comfortable. With exposed stone walls, parquet flooring and a beautiful tiled fireplace with a wood burner, the lounge is the perfect spot to unwind after a day in the mountains. Fill the air with laughter and chatter as you gather on the large corner sofa to share a bottle of wine, or sip a cuppa in the twin armchairs looking over the garden. The spacious, country-style kitchen is fully equipped to whip up delicious meals and picnic lunches with local produce, then dine inside or out with a farmhouse table in the kitchen and an outdoor table in the sunny south-facing garden. Three elegant bedrooms – one king-size, one double and one twin – invite you upstairs for a restful night’s sleep. The first-floor family bathroom has a stunning claw-foot bathtub, should you like a soak after a day of adventuring.

Home to wild moorland and some of the UK’s most fascinating prehistoric remains, the Preseli Mountains appeal to walkers and curious minds alike. The 12-mile Preseli Stones Trail even passes through the village. For a day at the coast, head 12 miles north to the coastal town of Fishguard, or south to Tenby (20 miles), which has golden beaches and an iconic harbour to explore.

We really enjoyed our stay, such a lovely building. Bathroom was pure luxury. very private with enclosed garden. Everything you could ask for with lovely crisp white bedding and towels. Lovely village, very peaceful and handy to visit Newport, Cardigan and Narberth.
