With a Mediterranean-inspired chalet surrounded by beautiful beaches, you know you’re getting the best of Wales. This unexpected gem is a gorgeous treat for a mixed group and their dogs, tucked into the village of St Ishmaels. The property is designed to capture a laid-back, sun-soaked vibe, and the surroundings match, which makes it the perfect place to enjoy a well-deserved holiday.
The chalet is set over one level, and when you enter, you’ll be in an airy, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. You’ll get plenty of natural light through the glass patio doors, and in the evening, why not cosy up in front of the wood burner? The kitchen/dining area, accessed through an archway, is great for casual meals and drinks. There’s a separate utility room for any laundry you might need to do. This property has three bedrooms: one king-size, one double, and one triple made of a bunk bed and a single bed, perfect for children. The double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath and a separate shower, and there’s also a family shower room with a double shower. The garden is thoughtfully designed. It’s enclosed by walls and natural rocks so your children and dogs can roam safely, and it wraps around the chalet for privacy. There’s a spacious shaded porch with seating, and on sunny days, you can use the BBQ plinth, read in the sun house and just relax.
You’ll have plenty of beaches to explore. Marloes Sand (5 miles) is a favourite: it’s dog friendly, good for surfing and bodyboarding and is just generally quite beautiful. Why not pack a picnic and spend the whole day there? Deer Park, 5.5 miles, is also worth visiting because of the incredible views and wild seals.
