This pretty cottage for four is just 1 mile from the picturesque village of Aberporth, which boasts two gorgeous, family-friendly beaches. The property is perfectly placed for those who love to explore on foot, with easy access to the Ceredigion Coast Path. The seaside town of New Quay is just 17 miles away and is a great place for dolphin watching, as well as taking boat trips along the heritage coast.

The cottage has a home-away-from-home vibe, with cosy soft furnishings and ample space for everyone to spread out and relax during your holiday. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is light and bright and is a great space for socialising. Unwind on the plump sofas and chat whilst the dinner is being prepared, before enjoying a delicious Welsh feast around the large dining table. On a summer’s day, throw open the doors to the garden to allow a gentle sea breeze to flow through the property. Outside, enjoy a spot of al fresco dining on the patio, taking in your peaceful surroundings. The cottage is set amongst similar cottages in 40 acres of shared grounds.

Pack a picnic and head to one of Aberporth’s two sheltered, sandy beaches for a day of sandcastle building, bathing and rock pooling. From the village, join the coast path for spectacular views and the chance to spot dolphins playing off the shore. Cardigan (6 miles) also makes for a lovely family day out. The town is full of history and a walk around the magnificently restored castle is a must. Take the time to potter around the town centre, which is packed with cute cafes, elegant boutiques, and fabulous art galleries, before taking a stroll along the river.

Property itself is very comfortable, home from home. Lovely to see a pint of milk and welsh cakes provided by the host. There is a Tesco 5 miles down the road so we popped in there just after arrival to top up on some food bits. You can walk into Aberporth if you don't mind walking on non pedestrianised roads so it's easier to drive and park up on Read morebeach itself and the parking costs only 3 which is a good will voluntary charge. Pub and beach great and coastal walks are great from Aberporth. Hide
