Studded amongst the beautiful countryside of the Gower Peninsular, this detached cottage sleeps four and offers delightful far-reaching views from the garden – and the fantastic coast is less than 7 miles away. Rugged cliffs roll down to the sea, encircling sandy coves and hidden bays that are backed by sand dunes rich in wildlife. Explore the scenic trails and pause to take in the views, rounding off with a dip in the sea. Back at the cottage, the wood burner is perfect for adding warmth and a wonderful atmosphere to an evening in.
The decor and furniture are attractive and comfortable throughout, but the biggest treat of all is the delightful lounge that has wooden floors, period beams and exposed stone as well as a feature wood burner. Sit back and watch the flames over your favourite tipple, switch on the TV or read a book before supper, which can be enjoyed in the country-cottage kitchen/diner. Upstairs, the main bedroom continues along the same vein with exposed stone and wooden detail, and there is a pretty second bedroom and a practical bathroom too. The vast mature garden is a tranquil spot to sip coffee and admire the views, and there is a BBQ to fire up on balmy evenings.
Stretching out to Rhossili Bay, the rocky ‘Worms Head’ 7.5 miles away is a great walk on the right side of the tide, and the sparkling shores of the beaches below are a sheer treat. For families, Mumbles 12 miles away is an excellent choice for a traditional day of swimming in the sea, building sandcastles and feasting on ice cream. Adventure seekers can catch the surf or try paddleboarding, and there are ample opportunities for mountain biking, rock climbing and even bushcraft via an activity centre.
