Indulge in a sumptuous stay at this enticing barn for two on a delightful smallholding near Cwmdu, some 3 miles from the edge of the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Sleeping just two adults, this gorgeous, one-bedroom Welsh property nestles within 7 acres and makes a perfect romantic retreat. Head off on walks or cycle rides through the undulating countryside; visit the historic town of Llandeilo, 7 miles away, or simply relax in your private garden, with a glass of wine, and gaze out towards the hills.

Wander into this beautiful, stone conversion to find generous, bright and beautifully finished accommodation. Open the doors from the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner to let a gentle breeze in on warm days and bask in the warmth of the underfloor heating during the autumn and winter months. Find your favourite programme on TV, choose a DVD or listen to music on the CD player. Whip up dinners for two in the kitchen and then lay the table for a quiet night in. Venture upstairs as night falls to find the comfortable, king-size bedroom, which has a vaulted ceiling and en-suite shower room. Enjoy the garden on fine days and light the BBQ out here during the warmer months. You’ll also find there’s space to store a bicycle and to park one car at the property.

Lace up your walking boots and embark upon a 5-mile walk to the famous Garn Goch Hill Fort, with its stunning views of the Towy Valley. Drive 10.5 miles to see the picturesque Carreg Cennen Castle, which dates back to the 13th century and is just inside the Brecon Beacons. Head into pretty Llandeilo to wander its charming streets, potter in its independent shops and find cafes and restaurants for meals out.

Cariad Cottage is in an idyllic location. Very rural and peaceful. The views are stunning from up there. If you like remote country roads, lots of trees and rolling hills, this is for you! The Cottage itself is well equipped for a weeks holiday for two. It is cosy and comfortable, whatever the weather. There are plenty of country walks, castles andRead more parks nearby. We visited Aberglasney house and gardens, which are beautiful. They also served the best vegan jaffa cake! Hide
