Thanks to the hundreds of barmy bathers who turn up each year to Tenby's Annual Boxing Day Swim. AROUND-THE-WORLD adventurer Rosie Swale Pope led hundreds of bathers into the sea for the 2008 Tenby Boxing Day Swim.
The event, organised by the Tenby Sea Swimming Association and sponsored by FBM Holidays, has helped five charities this year Partygoers arrived at North Beach at 11am to watch the swim and enjoy a raft race, sailing and canoe races, a lifeboat launch and fancy dress parade. Commemorative medals were presented to all swimmers, who dried off around a beach bonfire
The five charities that have been chosen for bathers to boost their money this year are: - Barnardos Cymru  working in Wales with vulnerable children, young people, families and communities. The British Retinities Pigmentosa Society dedicated to treating and curing people with the genetic eye disease, Plant Dewi working with families and young people In Pembrokeshire, Sandy Bear and Friends a bereavement loss service for children, young people and families in Pembrokeshire, The Tinkers Hill Trust Supporting Maria Evans bird of prey and swan rescue centre at Amroth.
