Stay in Amroth
Amroth Holiday Cottages
Amroth is a charming coastal village located approximately 7 miles east of the popular seaside resort of Tenby and overlooks the beautiful Carmarthen Bay with views towards Tenby and Caldey Island, with the Gower Coast in the far distance. Amroth serves as the starting point (or the end point) of Pembrokeshire’s 186 mile Coastal Path.
The beach at Amroth is easily accessible by either steps or the slipway and the half mile stretch of flat sands backed by pebbles and a sea wall is always popular with families for days out on the beach and it’s also a good beach for swimming and paddle boarding. Amroth is also a popular beach for fishing and hosts many local beach fishing competitions.
During extreme low tides it is possible to still see the remains of a petrified forest which lies hidden all along the beach and dates back some 7,000 years before the sea levels rose.
Amroth village centre has a lot to offer and boasts a great selection of family friendly pubs and restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets. The village stores and gift shop is well stocked with everything you need for your holiday, from fresh daily provisions, newspapers, beach goods and souvenirs.
For a real treat, take a visit to the beautiful and tranquil Colby Woodland Gardens which is just a short woodland walk from Amroth village centre. With delightful gardens, woodland walks, gift shop and courtyard tea-rooms serving fabulous homemade cakes and light lunches, this National Trust property is well worth a visit, especially for one of the many special events that take place throughout the year.
If thrills are more of your thing, then a visit to the nearby Battlefield Live Laser Combat zone on the main Llanteg road a few miles away is a great day out for the whole family
Amroth is a great location for self-catering holidays in one of our Pembrokeshire holiday cottages.
