This cosy cottage is perfect for couples or young families that love nature and want to get out and explore the countryside in a wildlife-rich part of West Wales.

This charming cottage offers guests the special opportunity to stay in the heart of the Teifi Marsh Nature Reserve, surrounded by its tranquillity and wildlife. Families will love getting away from it all in this traditional Welsh cottage in a quiet spot near the village of Cilgerran, particularly as it has the advantage of an on-site restaurant, nature trail and children’s adventure playground. There are also a wealth of walking trails that take you on a tour of the nature reserve’s highlights, or you can walk to bustling market town, Cardigan, which is 4.5 miles by road or 1.5 miles along the footpath.

This rustic cottage is bursting with original features that add to its rural charm. Stepping through the front door, you’ll find yourself in the open-plan living area, which is cosy and comfortable. The farmhouse-style kitchen has everything you’ll need to cook up a hearty breakfast or evening meal, whilst the sofas in the lounge are an ideal spot to relax. There are two bedrooms: a cosy double for the adults and a bunk-bed room for the children. Completing the accommodation is the compact bathroom with a shower over the ¾-size bath. Outside, the cottage has its own small garden with a bench for private dining.

With Teifi Marsh Nature Reserve’s on-site facilities, natural beauty and varied flora and fauna on your doorstep, you won’t need to travel far. However, historical Cardigan is a short walk away (1.5 miles) and has lots to discover, including its castle and gardens. You are also close to Wales’ west coast, including the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, so there are plenty of scenic walks, sandy beaches and secluded coves to discover, including Poppits Sands (7 miles) beach where the coast path starts.

The cottage was bijou, snug and warm with good provision for everything needed inside and a nice picnic table outside where we sat and watched the wildlife every day.. Wonderful situation, good heating system, otherwise a little basic. The "double" bed is a standard but loced against 3 walls so one has to clamber over to get in or out. Probably good for newlyweds but I ended up sleeping in one of the bunks.

This is our second stay at Oak Tree Cottage & we enjoyed it as much as the first! The location is just amazing, it's so quiet in the mornings & evenings with so much wildlife to be seen. It also feels safe with the security on site. It's accessible to the coast as well with lots of places to visit & things to do. Canoing on the river & dolphin watcRead morehing were two highlights! We rarely return to somewhere as like to explore new places but I feel we will be back once again to this one! Hide

We loved the reserve but the cottage was horrible. Very cosy but dirty. Filthy under the beds and the bed sheets on the top bunk were covered in dust. The shower has no window and a bad fan, so it doesn't vent at all. Had to break out the mould cleaner on the bathtub (mould was not from us!). The pillows smelt of smoke which we reported after our fRead moreirst night. They said they'd take care of it... but we heard no more about it all week. The cottage was small and whilst there are sufficient beds for four (2 adults and two children), being in such a small space with children and no TV or Wi-Fi could be a challenge if the weather was inclement. The cottage is great for its location, compact and warm. Suitable for an outdoor holiday. The cafe at the centre is brilliant for meals and snacks. On the Sunday we had a reserved table.

This is a great little cottage situated within the grounds of the Teifi Marshes Nature reserve. Would suit wildlife lovers and photographers who want to use the cottage as a base to stay. Although small the cottage is quaint and although no TV or wifi is a comfortable place to stay and great little kitchen

A very small cottage on a wildlife reserve. The cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway, which is exactly what we wanted. The lack of television and wifi was a massive bonus, and makes the retreat just that! Small cottage but had everything we needed for an amazing family holiday. Location is secluded but yet only a short walk from town. Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to others.
