A detached traditional Welsh longhouse dating back 300 years, set in a peaceful rural location adjacent to the village chapel. Close to the coast and Pembrokeshire’s golden, sandy beaches.

Embrace tradition and stay off the beaten track, enjoying a truly remote break in the Welsh countryside. Perched on the brink of the UK’s only coastal national park, this wonderful property puts the many wonders of the Pembrokeshire coastline and countryside within close reach. Head home at the end of each day to unwind in a truly traditional setting, relaxing by the wood burner or dining alfresco and playing ball games in the garden.

As an original Welsh longhouse, the look of this property is somewhat unique. Original beams, exposed stone walls and slanted ceilings add to the overall character and farmhouse nature of the place. And yet, modern additions including a Smart TV and underfloor heating in the bathroom ensure that this stay suits any contemporary family. The ground floor features a charming kitchen with a generous breakfast table and French doors leading right out into the garden, whilst an adjacent utility room offers a great spot to clear away messy outdoor wear or store dog beds. Cottage stairs from the cosy lounge lead up to the first floor where three bedrooms await you. Each of these has been lovingly presented with cosy decor and features a stunning view to wake up to each morning.

Head for the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (2.5 miles) and follow it to discover dramatic seascapes and beautiful beaches. Looking out to sea, you stand a chance of spotting seals and dolphins, whilst on the beaches, a wild array of flora and fauna will satisfy any nature lover. Nearby, Abereiddy Bay (5 miles) is a seafront beauty spot where swimming and rock pooling is a popular attraction on its shingle shores. A little further along the coast leads you to St Davids (8.5 miles), the UK’s smallest city and a fascinating place to spend an afternoon.

It was disappointing not to have any fuel for the stove for the fire but we found the accommodation was very nicely furnished and pleasant and the views stunning, especially from the Juliet balcony except for the graves next door, of course. Well positioned for visiting Porthgain, Fishguard and St Davids. Beds were comfortable and the bath with claRead morew feet and distant views from yet another large window made bathing luxurious. The house is very comfortable, with lots of space. Its very well appointed. It turned out very well with three generations sharing. Situated in the most picturesque area. The grandsons loved the beaches & water sports. I loved St. Davids, especially the Cathedral. From the front windows we watched Strumble Head, so on the last day we went to see thRead moree lighthouse, quite wonderful & so isolated, then down to Fishguard for an ice cream. Very attractive. Great location as a base for visiting surrounding beaches and attractions. The Blue Lagoon is a must and the city of St. Davids well worth a visit. Nearest pub is the Farmers Arms, good beer and food, approximately 5 minutes by car The Sloop at Porthgain is also great for food and drink, approximately 4 miles drive from the cottage.
