Beautiful and spacious cottage looking out over rolling fields and forest with stunning walks to enjoy, also a great spot for cyclists. And market towns and Ceredigion coast are within easy reach.

Set amongst the spectacular Welsh countryside, this pretty cottage makes the perfect rural retreat for small families and couples. Located on the edge of the Brechfa Forest, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to walking opportunities in the area. The historic town of Carmarthen is just 18.5 miles away and has some fantastic independent restaurants. Hop in the car and head to the Ceredigion coast (24 miles) for stunning sandy beaches, quaint seaside villages and rugged clifftop walks, before returning to your charming, enclosed garden for a deserved BBQ.

Enter the property into the spacious hallway, where you can leave your muddy boots and bikes. From here, two steps lead to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This area feels bright and airy, thanks to the double-height ceiling. The cosy lounge area features two comfy sofas, arranged around a warming wood burner; curl up here with a good book or watch your favourite programme on the TV/DVD. Three steps lead from the lounge to the inner hallway and the two stylish bedrooms. Outside, relax in the peaceful enclosed garden, where you can dine alfresco whilst taking in the magnificent views.

Pull on your hiking boots or jump on a mountain bike and weave your way along the way-marked trails of the Brechfa Forest, stopping off for a bite to eat at one of the picturesque picnic spots. It’s easy to fill a day wandering around Carmarthen, the oldest town in Wales. Take the history trail at the Roman amphitheatre, investigate the ruins of the 12th-century castle, and pick up some delicious Welsh produce at the bustling indoor market. On a hot day, head to Cenarth Falls (20 miles). The natural beauty spot features a string of beautiful cascading waterfalls and a walk along the riverbank in the cooling mist is the perfect way to spend a summer’s afternoon.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A well laid out and appointed cottage for active families with or without dogs and a super peaceful location for anyone wanting complete relaxation. The cottage owner, James, is extremely helpful and if he doesn't know something about the local area he will ask around and find out. So much to discover in the local area - forest walks, cycling, beacRead morehes, local produce, castles - or simply stay in the cottage garden and listen to nothing but the breeze, the birds and the sheep. Superb! Hide

The owner is a wonderfully helpful man. Perfect host, perfect cottage, perfect location. We even had our own Red Kite who would visit in the evening. A wet and windy week but we enjoyed it. Thank you James

Lovely barn conversion, it does have a couple of steps that would be a bit difficult for disabled. Garden was lovely with sheep as neighbours and the paddock was great for views and dogs.

The Barn is extremely comfortable, and the paddock for exercising our dog was ideal, as was the adjoining garden for relaxing. Complete silence - apart from birds and sheep! Perfect isolation from the real world, with superb views and forest walks.

The Barn is very clean and comfortable, in a beautiful location, for those who like peace and quiet, ideal, great for walkers and their dogs. However, I would recommend visitors take a good torch especially if taking dogs, as there is no lighting to the rear of the property for late night garden visits!!

As we had 4 dogs with us, it would have been nice to have a door straight to the garden, rather than out the main door, round the side, then through the gate.
