Sleeping four people across two bedrooms and welcoming two faithful friends, it’s the ideal country bolthole for small families or groups of friends who want to spend their days spotting seals and dolphins from their kayaks, and their evenings sipping bubbly in the property’s private hot tub, or making the most of the onsite fishing.

Make yourself at home in the stylish kitchen, cook up a feast for your loved ones and gather everyone together to eat at the dining table. Alternatively, head out to the patio area in the shingled garden, fire-up the BBQ and dine alfresco while you enjoy the panoramic country views. After dinner, watch the stars come out while you indulge in a dip in the outdoor hot tub, or head in to the living area to chill out in front of your favourite TV shows. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find one bedroom on the ground-floor and one on the first-floor.

With its pretty multicolour buildings lining the harbour, Aberaeron (1.5 miles) is a wonderful place to enjoy a traditional seaside holiday. The town is right on the Wales Coast Path and The Coastal Way, so the options for wonderful hikes are endless. Alternatively, head to the National Trust’s Llanerchaeron Estate (1.5 miles), which has remained largely unchanged since the 18th century. This is such a cute cottage, set in its own very private grounds with access to the river (down some steep steps!) and a resident pig, which the children loved feeding. The hot tub is fabulous, the whole place is clean and convenient and the area is beautiful. Aberaeron is incredibly pretty, yet it was quiet and the pebbly beach was deserted. New QRead moreuay was busier but still lovely and we saw dolphins from the harbour wall. The best escape after the horrible isolation of the last year. Hide
