A pretty period cottage perfectly located for exploring the near by countryside and for trips to the beach.

Located on the edge of Kidwelly, south of Carmarthen, this 19th century property offers the perfect mix of coast and country. It sits on a complex with one other cottage. The town boasts shops, cafes, a museum, the 12th century Kidwelly Castle, and Glan Yr Afon nature reserve . The local area is famed for its beauty,  so you’ll find a delightful mix of countryside, sea shores, estuaries and woodland, as well as fascinating market towns and villages. Visit Burry Port Harbour, Pembrey beach and Country Park, or the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Enjoy river and sea fishing, water sports, or walking the Kidwelly Canal path. (Please check admittance for the various attractions).

Put your feet up in the cottage lounge/diner. Here you can relax in front of the wood burner effect electric fire and watch a TV or DVD. In the kitchen, you’ll find everything you could need: electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Upstairs you’ll find the property’s only bedroom - a king-size, which also has a TV - and an en-suite bathroom, with a bath, overhead shower and WC and bidet.

Heading outside into the enclosed garden - which is shared with the holiday cottage next door - you’ll find a patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ, perfect for a post-beach al fresco dinner in the summertime. There’s also a secure, lockable outdoor storage unit for you to store your bikes and/or fishing equipment should you wish. From the garden you have direct access to a public footpath that takes advantage of the wonderful countryside setting - great for walking the dog or simply blowing away the cobwebs. The property has ample parking.

Lovely clean well-equipped cottage, just right as a base for exploring Carmarthenshire. Owner Gill was very helpful with tips and advice before and during our visit. This made us feel especially welcomed!

Gorgeous cosy cottage, well equipped with everything you might need. Tea, coffee, sugar, eggs & Bara brith to welcome you plus all the things such as dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, washing liquid, foil, cling film, loo rolls & more. Located a 5 minute walk from the stunning ruin of Kidwelly castle & within easy reaching for so much more. Beautiful old barn conversion, immaculate, pictures didnt do it justice. Home away from home with everything you could need. Great location with good local amenities. Would highly recommend it. Really enjoyed our stay there.

Excellent location for visits to surrounding attractions, high quality cottage retaining original characteristics like timber & stonework complimented with all mod cons. Ideal for 2 adults & dog. One warning, be aware of low ceiling beams, all part of the experience.

Misleading description and pictures in brochure as no views from windows and no grassed area just sharp gravel. There is public footpath access through the property and the mentioned path to the countryside from the property is badly overgrown with brambles making it very difficult to use for walking the dog first thing in the morning and last thinRead moreg at night.. Such a lovely cottage that is very well equipped and very cosy! Gill and John were fantastic with their communication and we were so grateful for their recommendations of places to go to see at eat. This cottage is beautiful with all one needs in a holiday home - big comfortable bed, small but well equipped kitchen, clean and modern bathroom with bath and powerful shower and a comfortable sitting room. It is an excellent base for touring local beaches, castles and countryside. Super location for exploring in an around the Carmarthenshire coast. Ideal for morning dog walks by the river under the castle ramparts. Easy travelling to see the spectacular beaches at Pembrey, The Dylan Thomas cottage at Laugharne and many great sights on the nearby Gower, including Rhosilli bay. My sister and I had a lovely few days break at this cottage and we really enjoyed our time in the cottage. We cooked some meals and ate out as well. Plenty of pots and pans and utensils for cooking. Everything was beautifully clean and we were so happy that this property allows dogs too which meant I could bring mine with me to run on the beaches aRead moret Pembry, Tenby and Whitesands.
