This charming cottage in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is perfectly located for enjoying days at the seaside, as well as wild and windy walks along the coast path. The property sleeps four guests, making it ideal for a small family getaway or couples’ retreat. Newport has a warm and welcoming community, with cute independent shops and restaurants. Further afield, the vibrant town of Cardigan (11.5 miles) awaits, with its impressive castle, excellent shops, and beautiful river walks.

This quaint stone cottage is full of character, with original stonework and exposed beams. Decorated in a simple country-cottage style, the property has a real timelessness about it, making it the perfect place to switch off from everyday life. Enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal together around the dining table in the delightful kitchen/diner, before retreating to the lounge to share a bottle of wine and reminisce around the cosy wood burner. Outside, a large garden envelops the property, providing ample room for children and dogs to play. Dine alfresco in the evening sunshine or simply sit back with a good book and take in your lush surroundings.

Newport Sands boasts 1 mile of glorious golden sand, so it’s easy to find your own little space to set up camp and spend the day at the seaside. The beach is popular with water sports enthusiasts, who enjoy sailing, kayaking and canoeing in the calm waters. From here, it’s easy to join the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which you can follow to St Dogmaels and the fabulous beach of Poppit Sands (14 miles). For spectacular views over Pembrokeshire, climb to the summit of Carningli Mountain, which towers over Newport. Steeped in mystery and legend, the walk will take you past a wishing well, stone ramparts and the fascinating remains of some hut circles.
