Begelly is a Surprising Place

Begelly is ideally located as a fantastic choice for your Pembrokeshire holiday, offering nearby country cottages and rural retreats, as well as being packed with things to see and do. It is close to many popular local attractions and is within a short drive of popular seaside and country towns and villages. It really is an ideal location for your self-catering holiday in the UK.

Begelly is well known for the very popular Folly Farm and Zoo leisure attraction which is ideal family fun whatever the weather. The village itself has a petrol station, shop, and church. The family-owned Watkins bakery here is a hidden gem.  In addition, the neighbouring village of Kilgetty is very close by and has a large supermarket, post office, and other shop facilities. It also has a fish and chip restaurant/takeaway and Chinese and Indian takeaways and a launderette, for convenience.

There are some lovely country walks which start in or near Begelly which give a sense of the mining history of the area. The Landsker Borderlands Trail passes just north of the village and is a long-distance trail which runs from Llanboidy and Efailwen in the north to Landshipping and Lawrenny in the south. For other things to do in the area, a car journey just a short way south will take you across the spectacular seaside resort of Tenby which boasts three gorgeous beaches and has wonderful pastel hotels lining the seafront. A car ride north will bring you to the gorgeous country town of Narberth which is packed with boutique shops and delicious eateries.
