A Golden Half Mile

Amroth is a great destination for family holidays. It has a stunning half-mile long, sandy flat beach located right in front of the village and lots of amenities very close by. Amroth really is a beautiful place to stay as the village and surrounding coastal paths offer panoramic views of Carmarthen Bay and around the coast towards Tenby and Caldey Island.

The beach is a firm family favourite because it is easily accessible, there are rockpools at the western end and it is suitable for lots of water sport activities. Additionally, this seaside village boasts a great selection of family-friendly pubs and restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets. What’s more, the village stores and gift shop is well stocked with everything you need for your holiday. This means you will be able to just take a stroll to pick up your fresh daily provisions, newspapers, beach goods and souvenirs.

The village’s gently-sloping beach was once a forest – tides often expose tree stumps. Today Amroth is popular with holidaymakers and is at one end of the 186-mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

For a real treat, take a visit to tranquil Colby Woodland Gardens which is just a short woodland walk from Amroth village centre. This National Trust site is certainly worth a visit. There are delightful gardens, woodland walks, a gift shop and a courtyard tea-room which serves fabulous homemade cakes and light lunches. The site also holds many special events throughout the year.

Have a look at our carefully selected holiday homes to start creating your perfect seaside break in Amroth.
