Ideally suited to young families, this apartment in the town of Tenby is filled with charming nautical decor with fantastic seaside views from the windows. Less than 50 metres from your doorstep you’ll find Castle Beach, a beautiful cliff-backed stretch of sand which disappears at high tide, but offers a serene spot at low tide for picnics and sandcastle-building competitions with all ages.
Situated on the first floor, the open-plan living space boasts beautiful views of the sea, setting the scene for a relaxing coastal break. Wood-clad walls in pastel colours and exposed brick add character to the space and offer a homely feel from the moment you step inside. Two sumptuous sofas and a cosy armchair ensure plenty of seating for all the family, whilst the dining table is the place to gather together at mealtimes to share stories. The kitchen is compact, yet equipped with everything you could need to cook up breakfast, lunch and dinner. What’s more, the quaint balcony off the main living space is a great spot to sip your morning coffee whilst soaking in the serene scenery. At bedtime, head to one of the two rooms and sink into slumber. The largest of the rooms is a handy family room, furnished with both a king-size bed and a single for younger guests, and a light, bright style of decor. Completing the sleeping arrangements is a chic double bedroom with a pastel wood-clad wall and tasteful nods to the property’s seaside location throughout. Finally, there is a simple, modern shower room where you can refresh at the start and end of the day.
There are four blissful beaches to explore in the area, all offering something a little different. Tenby South Beach is often regarded as the most family-friendly with its mile and a half of soft sand backed by dramatic dunes and a number of facilities including a great seaside restaurant, a cafe and seasonal lifeguards. For an adventure at sea, why not hop aboard a boat from Tenby Harbour and head out to see Caldey Island? Opt to become an island ranger and explore the Monastic history, or spend an afternoon on a wildlife spotting tour with Caldey Island, a hotspot for puffins, razorbills, cormorants and gannets.
