A few things to consider before buying a holiday let

If you are thinking of entering into the holiday letting market then maybe we can give you a few helpful hints. FBM Holidays are the self catering experts in Pembrokeshire and have been established for over 100 years. During that time we have seen a huge change in what our customers require for their perfect summer holiday.
Firstly, why choose Pembrokeshire? Well Pembrokeshire is fairly easily accessed from most places, we are only two hours from the Severn Bridge so it’s never too far to travel, and the M4 although busy doesn’t see the volume of traffic other motorways feeding tourist destinations sees. We are Britain’s only Coastal National Park, so we have beaches, wildlife, coastal paths and beautiful countryside by the bucket load. There’s plenty to do for all the family – theme parks, farms and zoos, castles and water sports galore. As well as quaint seaside fishing villages, market towns and compared to the rest of the UK, our house prices are fairly low, so it’s a good place to invest.
Any property will holiday let but you should consider location very carefully. The busier resorts such as Tenby and Saundersfoot are sound places for Holiday letting. Families and couples spending both weekend breaks and family holidays are all popular. You will pay a premium for buying in these areas, so perhaps consider something a little more off the beaten track, your market will be slightly different but with 186 miles of coastal path to discover in Pembrokeshire it’s a big market in couples taking walking holidays, and if you allow pets your market grows even more.
All property types will holiday let as long as they are well presented and have everything required, imagine what you require from you holiday let and then taylor it to that. Our biggest market is 2-4 people, so consider smaller apartments as well as cottages or town houses. People require more luxury these days, so items such as dishwashers, washing machines and definitely Wi-Fi are a real selling point when customers are searching for holidays.
