If you are in Tenby at all this summer, you must take the time to explore the Pembrokeshire coast from the sea. There are several boat charters and cruises; one of the best is Seaborne. You can find them in the square above Tenby Harbour.
The 90 minute cruise takes you around Caldey Island and St Margaret’s Island, now a bird sanctuary. The views are stunning, there are so many little beaches and coves to explore, it’s a lot bigger than you think. You get to see plenty of wildlife too, we saw a lot of birds and seals playing in the water.
The boat has a lot of history too, ‘Iolaire’ was originally a working boat from Tenby Harbour and has been worked all over the country from Scotland to the south of England and has now been returned to her home. Seb and Rebecca have lovingly restored Lolaire, she is a wonderful boat to enjoy the coastline on.
You can also charter the boat for trips further along the coast for a private tour; they will even provide food and drink if you like. This would be an excellent treat or surprise, it is definitely something different that you don’t often get to do and will remember for a long time!
