Saundersfoot Cawl by the Sea

St David’s Day is just around the corner and Saundersfoot is set to celebrate by hosting the Cawl by the Sea festival in true Welsh spirit.

The annual event, which takes place on Saturday, February 29, welcomes visitors and locals alike to sample the best cawl in Saundersfoot on a trail of its local hotspots.

A fun competition, the event attracts crowds of keen cawl-eaters to the seaside village each year to enjoy the traditional homemade dish before voting on their favourite.

The fun-filled day promises to deliver tasty food and an abundance of beautiful scenery.

The Cawl by the Sea festival will begin with event-goers collecting their bowls from Saundersfoot Regency Hall from 11am before embarking on cawl tasting at local venues from 12pm to 2.30pm.

The deadline to submit your vote for your favourite cawl closes at 3pm with slips to be handed back in at the Regency Hall before prize giving takes place at 3.15pm.

Venues taking part in the cawl trail include The Boathouse, The Captain’s Table, The Regency, Marina, Beachside Barbecue, The Harbwr Bar and Kitchen and The Stone Crab.

The day won’t just be about cawl, however, there will also be a village showcase at the Regency Hall to introduce to visitors a variety of local organisations and groups.

The showcase will feature Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism, Rotary Club of Saundersfoot, St Issells Women’s Institute, Cancer Research, Saundersfoot Craft Group, RNLI, Hobbies Group, Saundersfoot Indoor Market and Craft Stalls, Saundersfoot and District Historical Society, Pembrokeshire Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers and Pure West Radio.
