Spring is an exceptionally beautiful time of year here in West Wales. Carmarthenshire is bursting into colour and life as it celebrates new beginnings around Easter time. What better place to bring the family to put a Spring in your step?

Spring Walks. Carmarthenshire is full of magical walks. Take a stroll around picturesque Cenarth falls, hike through the breathtaking Black Mountain range, picnic at Llys Y Fran reservoir, explore Dylan Thomas’ inspiration at Laugharne or feel the magic of the woodlands at Llangennech.

Meet the Easter Bunny at Gwili Railway, Carmarthen. Take a trip back in time on the Gwili steam railway for the Easter trail. A trip on the vintage train includes an activity pack for the children, a visit from the Easter bunny and an Easter egg.

The National Botanical Gardens of Wales. Prepare to be wowed by the flora, fauna and magnificent colours of the Botanical Gardens of Wales. These gardens are well worth a visit all year round, but during Spring it really is a sight to behold. Exploding with new life, there is easily a whole day’s worth of things to see and do here. This isn’t just for gardeners – kids and grown-ups alike will be enchanted by this rich showcasing of the natural world at it’s best.

Regular events, exhibitions and wildlife studies are held here all year round.

Llanelli Wetland Centre. Hand feed the rarest goose in the world, see colourful flamingos, go bug hunting or pond dipping, enjoy bird watching from hides and explore the reserve to see butterflies, dragonflies and more!

Bushcraft at Morfa Bay Adventure, Pendine. Learn how to survive and thrive in the wilderness with a bushcraft session at Morfa Bay. Face challenges, problem solve and learn ancient skills in the great outdoors. Sessions are tailored to ages and abilities and guarantee to have you feeling like Bear Grylls by the end of the day. Morfa Bay also have a huge range of outdoor activities available, so there’s something for everyone.

Easter Egg Hunts. Easter egg hunts are a seasonal staple. What could beat the fun of searching the beautiful Carmarthenshire outdoors for chocolatey goodies with the family? There are loads of Easter egg hunts on in Carmarthenshire including at Pembrey Country Park, Laugharne Castle, Ferryside, Llanelli Wetland Centre and Dinefwr.
