News story will be broadcast in between Christmas and New Year
A local Pembrokeshire chocolatiers has been the subject of a new ITV report due to be screened on the Welsh news in the next few days. Trwfll, the health-conscious chocolate shop in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire has seen a film crew and reporter arrive to ask questions and interview staff in the lead up to Christmas.
Trwfll’s self-proclaimed tagline is that they sell ‘indulgent chocolate truffles, handmade in Pembrokeshire’ and recently began operating from new premises on Milford Haven’s fabulous Marina. Trwffl is owned by nutritionist Ellen Picton of Healthaspire along with partners Debbie Anthony and Sandra Bevan. They make chocolate with a difference, as they aim to produce only chocolate that is good for you. As dark chocolate has many health benefits, Ellen decided she wanted to create a chocolate treat that was full of flavour and with minimal sugar; so by combining 72 % dark chocolate from Belgium, Pembrokeshire cream and welsh flavourings the recipe was created.
The range also has a dairy-free selection that is suitable for vegans. Every single truffle is made by hand then hand dipped and decorated, there are no production machines just some very busy staff!
Owner of Trwfll, Ellen Picton said of the visit of ITV news, “It’s about local produce, buying local and the misconception of handmade goods being expensive. We’re very excited. We will be on the 6 ‘o’ clock news next week, but we do not know quite yet which day.”
Watch this space, as we will update on the news report as and when we know when it will be aired.
