#isawcolin at Saundersfoot Harbour Festival!
Part of Pembrokeshire fish week’s nine-day long festival celebrating all things seafood, drawing to a close on Sunday 30th June. There’s still time to enjoy all that’s going on throughout the county.
There’s over 250 events and activities being held as part of Fish Week including celebrity masterclasses and cookery demonstrations as well as seashore foraging sessions to name but a few. Whole towns also get involved, one of which is Saundersfoot with the Harbour Festival. This event, proudly sponsored by FBM Holidays, marks the end of the fishtivities on the 30th June 2019 on the new national events decking from 11am-5pm. Sure to be a fantastic family friendly day out providing lots of entertainment and a shoal of activities. Live music, fish filleting and craft lessons are just some of the features you will be able to enjoy there.
If you can’t make a specific event being held during Fish Week, then you can still make the most of it. You could head out on a fishing trip or find a local eatery which is taking part in the festival. Many are putting on special dishes or menus or hosting pop-up events. Local shops are also offering discounts on some of their nautical themed items.
Fish Week is also celebration of our spectacular coastline, award-winning beaches and fascinating maritime heritage. It is growing every year and incorporates a variety of activities so those who are not such a fan of seafood can still be involved. Rock pooling and push netting with the Darwin Centre is a great one for children. Alternatively, you could take a boat trip to see if you can spot some of the wildlife with one of the many companies based around the county or head over to the Regency Hall in Saundersfoot on Saturday 29th June to watch fishy themed film, Fishermen’s Friends at 7pm.
Fish Week will be a great way to tour the county if you’re here with FBM on holiday, about to join us or are a local resident. What better excuse to spend some quality time with friends and family?

If you miss Fish Week, then don’t worry. Pembrokeshire showcases the fantastic seafood landed on its shores all year round. The Stone Crab in Saundersfoot and The Salt Cellar in Tenby are just two examples restaurants which create delicious dishes from local catch. Alternatively, Fishmongers, such as Simply Seafood on Tenby Harbour, will enable you to rustle up a tasty seafood supper in your holiday home.
