Fabulous Grade11 Listed Tenby Apartment

An absolutely beautiful holiday apartment in one of Tenby’s fabulous Grade II listed houses in the harbour area on Castle Square.

Laston Garden Flat, Tenby

Laston Garden Flat is located in Tenby’s beautiful harbour area in what was originally the building for the salt water baths built around 1806 for Sir William Paxton and known then as Paxton’s Bathhouse.

The building was grade II listed as a Georgian marine bath designed by a leading architect and for its historical importance in the development of Tenby as a resort.

Georgian visitors appear to have enjoyed the freezing cold salt water baths, filled twice a day by the incoming tides.

Overview

Today, the main building is known as Laston House, and still bears the original Greek inscription above the impressive entrance door – ‘Thalassa kleuzei panta t’anthropon kaka’– a quote from Euripides which translates as “The sea washes away the ills of men”.

This is certainly one of Tenby’s more fascinating and unique historic buildings.

Laston Garden Flat occupies the lower ground floor area of Laston House and is completely separate with its own access and terraced area.

Providing superb 4 star holiday accommodation for 5 people over three bedrooms, steps to the apartment meander down to the large paved terrace and the main entrance door leading to the hallway with utility area.

From here 11 steps lead up to the first floor spacious open plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner, beautifully decorated and incorporating wooden flooring, high ceilings and large sash windows providing ample natural lighting and views out to sea.

A stylish, modern kitchen area along one wall incorporates sleek modern units and a circular feature window above the work surface.

The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and everything you need for a family self-catering holiday.  Whilst the kitchen is modern in design, it blends perfectly with the traditional features of this lovely open plan room.

The beautiful bedrooms in Laston Garden Flat include a unique circular bedroom in what would originally have been part of the Assembly Rooms.

Outside, the private seaward facing paved terrace is very spacious, with a table and seating where you can enjoy al fresco dining or sit gazing out to sea and watching the changing of the tide after a busy day exploring this wonderful historic seaside town.
