VIP visitors enjoyed a big night out at Oakwood Theme Park recently with a combination of live music and spectacular fireworks’ displays. The evening show was organised by Radio Pembrokeshire and the ‘Big Night Out’, which was sponsored by Sinclair Group of Neyland, was for a select group of competition winners. Entry to the theme park was by invitation only and guests enjoyed exclusive use of the park’s rides before moving to the main stage for a series of live musical performances. The evening culminated with a fireworks display.
On the stage singer Amelia Lily, whose debut single ‘Bring Me Joy’ reached number two in the British charts in 2012 was the headline act. She performed her latest single ‘California’, which was only officially released at the weekend. Others acts who performed live included Valley rocker and The Voice star Ragsy, the Sylvia Young Theatre School band EverYoung and British singer-songwriter Charlene Soraia, whose cover of The Calling’s ‘Wherever You Will Go’ went to number three in the charts in 2011.
Manager of Oakwood Theme Park, Clare Stansfield said:
“The Big Night Out really was a fantastic event and it definitely lived up to its name. All the guests seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience of having their own private theme park for the evening and the quality of the live performances was amazing. We were then able to top the whole thing off with a spectacular fireworks display and everyone left with a big smile on their face.” she added.
