Standing amidst a background of stunning rural beauty, is the ancient ruins of St Dogmaels Abbey. Situated alongside the River Teifi enjoy an afternoon wandering around this prehistoric site and find yourself on a journey back though medieval times. The Abbey, originally constructed in the year 1120, has been cherished by individuals for years and was once the home of ecclesiastical French monks. Through the twelfth and sixteenth centuries construction to the Abbey continued until the closure of it when it was turned into a private mansion. Still popular with tourists today, the historic Coach House is not far from the site and holds numerous exhibitions about life at the Abbey and has a spectacular collection of early Christian stones that were once the ornamental gems of the Abbey interior.

Y Felin Water Mill is also well worth a visit as it is only a short distance from the Abbey and is the one of only two working mills found in Wales.
