Sardis Holidays

Sardis is situated near Wisemans Bridge in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and is a wonderful place to stay in Pembrokeshire if you’re looking for a seaside holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the busier resorts.

The nearest beaches to Sardis are Saundersfoot and Amroth both situated around the curve of Carmarthen Bay. Saundersfoot is one of Pembrokeshire most popular seaside villages and here you will find a wide array of pubs, restaurants and gift shops. Spend the day on the soft sand beach and relax or be a bit more adventurous and hire some watersports equipment from Walk on Water which is adjacent to the beach front and hire out kayaks and kite surfing equipment. There is also a watersports hire shop on the beach during the summer which has pedaloes-great fun for the family! If you prefer not to venture far from the beach whilst on your holiday then The Mermaid restaurant presents the perfect dining opportunity as it sits just by the slipway onto the beach. A wonderful seaside décor fills this family friendly eaterie where you can enjoy hearty meals and a wide range of locally landed seafood dishes. Try to get a seat near the window where you can gaze out over the bay. When the tide is out you can walk all the way to Amroth where the beach stretches the whole length of the village. At low tide you can see the remains of an ancient forest which was destroyed when sea levels rose 7000 years ago. Fossilised antlers, nuts, bones and Neolithic flints have all been found here. The parish here was an important anthracite coal mining area which is evident by the tunnels carved into the cliffs which you fill find on the path between Amroth and Saundersfoot.

Travel further on up the coast to Pendine where you can visit Pendine Sands where Malcolm Campbell and J.G. Parry-Thomas set the world land speed record five times between 1924 and 1927. The beach stretches for seven miles, and is well worth the visit.

Sardis is a great place to stay for those looking to walk the Pembrokeshire Coast Path as it has easy access to joining it. Whether you pick it up at the start in Amroth or choose to join it in Saundersfoot or Tenby the choice is yours and there are frequent bus services should your feet need a rest! Head back to Sardis at the end of the day and enjoy a drink at the Wisemans Bridge Inn where you can enjoy the view of the beach as you laze on the outside chairs and tables.

Rest your head at FBM Holidays Oak House, a small, comfortably furnished, detached cottage in a countryside setting. The cottage has private, off-road parking and is situated off Sardis Road, a small country lane providing easy access to Kilgetty's shopping facilities, 1/2 mile away. The location is central for enjoying walking, cycling, beautiful beaches and a variety of local attractions. Visitors can benefit from walking through the property owner's mixed woodland, leading to Wiseman's Bridge beach 1.5 miles away, or simply sit on the veranda to enjoy the scenery overlooking Stepaside Valley.

FBM Holidays has also selected the nearby Mill House as a great choice for families. Mill House is a delightful detached cottage offering attractive and well-equipped holiday accommodation.
