Tenby Town & Peninsula

Main towns in the Tenby region when staying in Wales

TENBY, South Pembrokeshire’s largest town, offers splendid Victorian and Georgian architecture set within Tudor town walls. It is perched dramatically on a rocky promontory and boasts award winning, white sandy beaches, a picturesque harbour with busy boats ferrying people to the monastery island of Caldey or taking out families for fishing trips, lush Mediterranean-style vegetation and charming narrow streets packed with shops, galleries and restaurants. In the summer, the centre of Tenby is transformed into a 'cafe culture' centre, with no traffic allowed within the town walls. The restaurants and public houses take full advantage of this and you can relax wining and dining in the middle of Tudor Square, watching holiday makers bustle to and fro.

FBM Holidays have been informed by Pembrokeshire County Council that all holidaymakers who are renting property in streets that have resident parking are entitled to apply for a visitors pass costing £6 per week (for 2010). PLEASE NOTE: - The council require the confirmation of the holiday booking together with the car registration also a cheque for £6 before permits will be issued. It cannot be stressed highly enough that this does NOT guarantee parking. Resident’s parking is on a first come first served basis. Parking is only permitted on the streets of which the permit is issued. There is NO reserved parking at all and in some streets the amount of permits issued already far outnumbers the spaces available.

Customers will have to decide whether the weekly fee justifies the possibility of parking. As an alternative, weekly tickets can be obtained for parking in the Multi Storey Car Park in Upper Park Road £10.80 a week or £1.80 a day or £2.00 for 24 hours. North Beach and South Beach Car Parks are £2.00 daily or £12 weekly. The Salterns Car Park is £9.00 a week or £1.50 a day.
